I’ve just attended the most brilliant Aucademy Education session about positive autistic identity. Most workshops, groups, books etc I’ve used to understand the boys and other autistic people better usually talk about ‘having autism’ and challenges or symptoms…you are autistic, you don’t carry it along with you like something you can sometimes leave at home. “Your brain is an autistic brain and is inseparable from you”.
I highly recommend following Harry Thompson – PDA Extraordinaire and Dr Chloe Farahar if you want to truly appreciate how to help autistic people have a positive experience of the world, and help you have a better understanding of and appreciation for the many strengths and differences in autistic people.
